Kigali Convention Centre, Rwanda – From, February 3,2025, the Rwanda Union of the Blind is honored to participate in the three-day DRF Grantee Convening2025,  a dynamic gathering of partners, stakeholders, and organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).

This convening provides an impactful platform for exchanging ideas and good practices to support and advance disability mainstreaming on a global scale.

The Grantee Convening is guided by the overarching goal of fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among DRF/DRAF grantees, development partners, stakeholders, and OPDs.

Together, the participants aim to share lessons learned, explore collaborative opportunities, and align with emerging priorities within the Disability Rights Fund’s strategic plan as well as other key development partners.

Key Objectives of the Convening

The Grantee Convening 2025 is structured around both overall and specific objectives that drive engagement and innovation within the disability rights movement:-

The Overall Goal is to establish a platform for knowledge exchange and experience-sharing among DRF/DRAF grantees, development partners, stakeholders, and OPDs for strengthened collaboration in advancing disability rights.-

The Specific Objectives include Strengthening relationships and cultivate movement-building within the disability rights sector, sharing knowledge, advocacy insights, and best practices to inspire impactful initiatives and fostering strategic linkages with donors and government representatives for inclusive development.

As a proud participant of this event, the Rwanda Union of the Blind stands committed to contributing its experiences, lessons, and expertise, while actively collaborating with peer organizations and partners to amplify the voices of persons with disabilities.

The convening also provides a unique opportunity to strengthen advocacy efforts and expand strategic networks that will drive meaningful, inclusive changes in policy and practice

Through focused dialogue and collective action, this convening underscores the critical importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion. The Rwanda Union of the Blind looks forward to continuing its work with disability rights champions, aligning efforts for an accessible and equitable future for all
